Balanced Breath

Balanced Breath / Shanti Mind Pranayam

Learning the balanced breath is a foundational practice -
It is most important within this journey.
Bring awareness to the feel of the breath
Moving in and out of the nostrils
Allow the breath and the body to relax fully
When tense the upper chest alone moves
When Relaxed the stomach will move with a gentle bellows action.
Give time to settle into this - Soften into this. When one has actualized this motion and is going with its flow, proceed on to the next step.

Focus on the side with less air flow
Allow it to totally relax
Stay with this until the breath feels balanced, continue to allow the abdomen to soften and
Allow all muscles to relax - keep back gently Straight.
When this is actualized proceed to the next Practice of Open Eye Mediation:

When ready, bring the attention to the right side of the chest - this is the home of the spiritual heart
Which is not a physical location but a cognition of Being
It is a place that develops awareness purely

Relax into the spiritual heart...
Allowing the breath to breathe itself... soften into this presence for a time
If the mind or eyes want to focus on a particular object soften the gaze around the object
Allow awareness to expand from within the Heart outward
Not focusing on or holding anything in particular
Now, continue to relax into the Spiritual Heart Center
Float in the fullness of awareness
Allow all barriers to fall
So that it is open to the totality of the Universe as ONE
Sounds come Sounds go
The body relaxed
The gaze softened
No concerns
No clinging
No aversion
Just warmth radiating from the Center of Being

If mind thoughts come up one may repeat Om THAT I AM.
As they recede, just remain in the Stillness and Bliss that emerge.

This is seeing through the Heart
This is the open eye meditation
It can be done throughout the day
